Maternity, Family & Wedding Photography

During each session, whether it be wedding, maternity or family, I like to capture the weather and her ambiance, the flora in bloom, and the moments not-to-be-missed. The first look, the first kiss, the father-of-the-bride as a tear gently rolls down his cheek. The unique glow of a maiden about to turn mother as she caresses her belly in anticipation. That brief moment when two siblings stop squirming and start giggling long enough to give the impression that they always get along. The ferns, roses and eagles watching without most even recognizing.

From a young age I wrote short stories for my family. Then there was one elementary school teacher who casually told me I was a gifted writer. Bless her - her words stuck. I eventually became a ghost-writer for a triathlon company in Victoria, BC. At University I wrote for Ke Kalahea, the student newspaper at UH Hilo, which landed me a job at Ke Ola, an Arts & Culture Magazine based in Kona, Hawai’i. I eventually bought a little Nikon camera and began taking photos of my subjects. That’s when my love for storytelling blossomed. The fulfilment of highlighting someone’s life, the beauty and intricacy of writing their story, and the intimacy of capturing their photos enthralls me.

I am honoured to capture your story.
